A tribute to Brian Powles

Brian raced from 1970 to 1985 and won 29 finals. Brian was also a prolific engine builder and supplied several top drivers with engines including the "Meastro" Stuart Smith. He didn't win any major championships but did get a 2nd in the 1981 World Final at Bradford the same year he claimed a 2nd in the European Cahmpionship at Northampton both behind Len Wolfenden. Of his 206 wins behind the wheel 52 were at Northampton but he was also quick on the shale recording 31 wins at Long Eaton, his local track and where he won his 1st ever final in 1970 at the Easter Trophy meeting in only his 3rd meeting. In his 1st ever heat at Cadwell only Ron Rogers, Stu Smith and Mick Noden were better.
Sadly Brian passed away in 2000 and this page is dedicated to him.
